Volunteer Governance
Solidarity,
Not Dependency.
At LoHub, the community is the owner of the initiative; more than 95% of our projects stem from proposals by Emergency Response Room volunteers and local communities. The LoHub team — benefiting from its vision, creativity, and professional expertise in building partnerships — acts as a facilitator, contributor, and volunteer to support these efforts, driven by shared experience, mutual learning, and a fundamental commitment to solidarity.
Our work is deeply rooted in the Sudanese "Nafir" traditions (collective mobilization). In light of the ongoing conflict since 2023, our volunteers continue to show exceptional resilience. Our approach is defined by continuous learning, radical adaptation, and unwavering solidarity.
Radical Efficiency
We operates with an leading operational cost, which did not exceed 1% in 2025, with a commitment to maintaining it below 2% — represented by our international partners' unrestricted contributions — to cover the basic requirements of operation, auditing, accounting, and compliance. This ensures achieving "maximum value for money," and directing resources directly to the areas most in need while maintaining strict transparency. We do not merely execute; we facilitate, coordinate, and empower community-led projects.
"To enhance community-led mutual aid through joint supervision and participatory management..."
We support diverse volunteer initiatives while ensuring the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and independent local decision-making.
